The Ministry of Mines, Government of India, has recently issued a QCO for Refined Zinc in consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The QCO shall be called the Refined Zinc (Quality Control) Order, 2025.
This order shall be enforceable after the expiration of six months from the published date of this notification.
The order specifies the mandatory requirement of an ISI mark under a license from the Bureau that should be displayed on the given goods or articles. These goods or articles must also conform to their designated IS. These requirements are under the regulations given in Scheme I of Schedule II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
